What to Pack for a Weekend Away: Weekend Getaway Capsule Wardrobe

With summer in full swing, I recently found myself deciding what to pack for a weekend away in Arizona. My sister and I made a trip to Scottsdale where we enjoyed adult drinks, long days at the pool, and a lot of shopping! With so many different things on our itinerary, I knew I needed to bring a variety of options. I wanted to share a weekend getaway capsule wardrobe which includes some of what I took on the trip and other items I wish I took so you can get inspiration for your next vacation!

Travel Day  

First up on the list of what to pack for a weekend away is what to wear on a travel day. Being comfortable but stylish on the plane is important. I always like to wear long sleeves to stay warm. This linen is a nice one for summer because it’s lightweight enough to wear if you’re arriving at a warm destination. On the way home, you can opt for a previously worn outfit. Having pieces you can wear multiple ways is important for a weekend capsule wardrobe. I love pairing the linen shirt with the longer dress and sneakers. To switch it up, you can tie the long sleeve linen blouse at your waist. Or you can grab a cozy sweatshirt at a local shop with your destination on it and have a memento from your trip.

Shopping Days

I have a large obsession with matching sets! A matching set is a great foundation piece for a weekend capsule wardrobe. Not only can you wear it together with a French tuck, stacked jewelry, and a nude slide for a chic look, but you can also break it up and a ton of wear out of each piece. Night Out

Let’s talk about what to pack for a weekend away if you’re planning on going out at night! My favorite thing to do on vacation is to get showered and ready for a great night after a day at the pool. This beautiful white linen dress is simple and elegant with a gold strappy wedge sandal. Add some gold stacked bracelets and you’re ready for a night on the town. I also especially love this Farm Rio floral dress. So fun and flirty with the wedge. Pool Day

If you’re planning on going to the pool, I always like bringing a one-piece and bikini so that I have options. I normally bring one cover up that matches both suits in order to save room in my suitcase. Be sure to have fun, relax, and enjoy your favorite refreshing drink while looking fabulous!
